This class is offered to expose students to musical theater as a whole. Within the course of this hour long class, students will practice jazz based dance technique, acting elements for the stage such as projection, concentration, and improvisation, as well as vocal and diction skill exercises. Musical Theater classes practice a show piece from a famous musical for a period of 5-6 weeks. In-class performances shown on the stage in costume, are a fun way to showcase what the students have been practicing and then its on to a new show piece! This class does require uniform attire.
For kids who love to be on stage and are ready to learn more about acting, our Actor’s Workshops are a great way to begin or to explore a new play! Is your child ready to transition from your school play to something more serious perhaps? These Workshops are 8-9 weeks in length and are straight plays with little or no singing. Practice is 1-2 times per week. Plays are 30-60 minutes in length and are performed in our black box theater with costumes that the school provides. Perfect for your budding actor who is ready to be seen and heard!
Got a little one whose whole world revolves around pretending to be a pirate or a princess? Creative Acting allows for 4 and 5 year olds to join in on the fun as well! Students are encouraged to “pretend” each week and recreate familiar stories, as well as other fun elements of theater such as puppets and masks!
